Guess they had to settle it between the two

Well daddy was out just a' drinking one night
And he shouldn't have been driving he was sewn up tight
But sometimes folks do just what they do
With his one headlight he went around the bend
And who was waiting but a police man
So the truck went to impound and daddy went to the can

After they both got their DUI's
Guess they had to settle it between the two

Well I guess only three or four days had passed
And mama swore she wasn't goin' that fast
But the ticket said that she was doin' 92
She said the alcohol smell was from an appetizer
But that didn't fool no breathalyzer
So mama got a DUI goddammit daddy got one too

Well the years have flown by and us kids have grown
And daddy never liked mama drinking alone

Now they get drunk together, the truck's riding in the ol' driveway
